• I agree with you. Moderator will be hired if he/she active and give more contribution.
• Moderator must be have good skills in English.
• You can explore her/his experience using google search.
• I think you have to contact best member for become a moderator first, so not moderator by her/his request.

They may want to be a helpful part of the community? That's why I become a mod on forums.

you don't have to be a mod or any staff to be helpful. You just help ppl that need it. no position nessecary which is why Zeus is looking for persons that do it just to do it for staff. because these are the type of ppl that will not go on power trips after staff because they are already doing something(helping) without any benefit.
